If I don't do it who will?

AWAL HEADER

There's an old LDS/KSL generated PSA(Public.service, announcement) that asked the question at the end, If you don't do it, who will? The question comes on the heels of a constructive comment on AD's site that said put away all the rest of the crap fix up your trucks, and just go tow. Okay fine, I would in a heartbeat, if there was someone else out there building a radio network for us going towing or for that matter truckers, in our part of the nation. I'd quit my bit if there was someone else in this damn area, trying to get others to see there is an alternative to the ultra conservative views of our nations infrastructure, from politics, to the status quo, If there was a one call that's all to hire the filly's to be on one damn TV ad, to tell people to call me if their ride pukes. But there isn't. So what about the Knytes? Yes there is our club, I'm happy as hell that it was started, happy to be a part of that start and the one that keeps breathing air into it. Who would if I didn't? Whether or not many agree with this, I'm good with my hands, I'm a pretty darn good shade tree mechanic, and my fixes , last. I heard from my landlord today, that he took a old Ford Ranger to a shop here in Gooding. Now after two years the shop wants the thing moved and yes it'll be me and Lexi towing it, but after nearly $2,000.00 that my landlord paid up front, and yet nothing done sezz to me, there is a needed thing for a good auto shop and a wrench here in this town. Trouble is, not too many shops for rent , and the few that are here are way over my price range.  I know, should have taken the place in Bliss huh? Trust me that's still in the works, the fact is there's very little I can't do to a ride, whether it flys or runs on 4,6, or 18 wheels. No I have no real work for someone else job experience, but I have learned from the best in the business, just like I did to be able to tow. Until I find a shop, to rebuild both my trucks and all, my mission in life is to finally build this radio station, put the thing on the air, hereby rebuild the Knytes into not only what we were but even better, and serve them as well as all who tow and haul. Its called giving back. Look I was given the gift of gab, even before I could walk, I could talk. Mom always said if you can't dazzle with brilliance, confuse them with bull. Not all I say is bull. Hell even science fiction or even fiction has its roots in truth or a true story to tell. Some think all my stuff is a fib. The facts are simple, Mom & Dad both had the means to allow me to explore my dreams. Some worked others flopped, but I still explored. Now yes being as some say spoiled, I could hold my nose in the air, not care for anyone and just act like Little Lord Fauntleroy. But that's not how God(Kahless) or his son Jesus would do here on Earth , nor will I. I will always be out here fighting for the underdogs of our area as well as nationwide, that includes not being a prude, and fight for the CSA/CNP, as best as I can. The best way to do that is mass media. Now again if I could convince a local radio or TV station to take me on, and I nearly did in Boise, until one of AD's bunch called them up and got them to stop me. But if there was another way, don't you think I'd do that? Now to be fair, when I had lots of money at my beck and call, things like low cost advertising was no big deal. Shit I spent I don't know how many thousands of dollars there. Some of it worked some didn't. But to be true here too. Just as the original Hazzard Garage of ours was to open, I had the then 4-Wheeler and Off Road Magazine contracted for ads. I had the model booked through the magazine , to fly into Twin, drive out to Hazzard, do the shoot, and fly back for the small price then of $700.00 but Bro, said for half that we can get someone local to do that. Been looking ever since. That was back when Lexi looked a bunch better, and why a 4X4 publication, the concept to build my General Lee on the frame of a Dodge 4X4 , lift kit and all was in the werx, much of it got sidelined due to mom's death, but it wasn't for the lack of effort. The truth is, yes I have lost big amounts of money from goofy ideas. But outside of a few of the Knytes, I have yet to see anyone outside the club step up and say we'll help you do this. Granted the shop in GF flopped, but there was another in town just a block or two from TJ's Farm Store, that the city owns. They are not doing much if anything with it, except store Christmas stuff. Why couldn't they have leased me that tiny shop on a short term basis to where I could have gotten started, then in time I could have gotten a bigger shop, even built one? But nooo. So I went down in flames with that old Simplot shop there. If old JR would have been in charge , I'll bet dollars to donuts that he'd have gave me that shop. Why? Mom & Dad knew very well old JR Simplot, and leased land to him to farm for a few years. Memories have a strange way of evaporating. So getting this done so I can take my nap, the radio station etc, if I don't do it who will?

The answers to my earlier blawg of could such an event be produced and delivered in Idaho is I think and I could be wrong, but IMO, NO! Maybe , and that's a stretch but maybe Boise. But the same restrictions that plague the rest of Idaho would be the same. LDS and other very conservative views and boycott threats to sponsors would hinder such an event. I could just see AD and his brood would make a fuss over that. My inquiry to some of this is why? I hear so many times , bad things cast to the greater LDS population, things like those dang Mormons wont let you do this or that, thing is even those saying that will not go against that thought or plan. After all best protect your job, and in this area most major employers or boss' are LDS. This is not a bad thing of course. I even have said I think the ultra-conservative LDS mindset, but at the same time, even though I do overtly side step some gospel rules, like this stuff behind my lip, my thoughts that God(Kahless) put great looking women on Earth to be looked at, its the observer who makes that dirty, and the list goes on and that's getting off point here, sorry about that, Thing is, could an event of the nature and scope, be done in Idaho? I really want to know, so email me at the flyte shaq, www.ayrewolf@gmail.com . Let me know your thoughts on this issue.

As August quickly begins to settle in the dust one prophetic event remembered that I do remember was Woodstock. No I was not there, but surely wish I would have been course 40 years ago I was only ten years old, and busy chasing Peggy Follett all over Layton High, but I heard the music, and felt the vibes. The question I have is, Could such an event be put on today? More-over and I purtty much know the answer , but could such an event be put on here in Idaho? There was such an attempt in 1998 at a thing called LiveStock in a park out near Riverton Utah a sub-burb of Salt Lake City, by KBER FM 101.1, it was by all means a good attempt, but timing, weather, and the legal(LDS) hassles nearly canned the gig, but I was there at LiveStock, and enjoyed it. Cept fer the dog crap in my lunch and someone stepping on my hair whilest I tried to take a nap, but met some hot bods, had fun, but that's getting off the path here. Could Such an event be done in Idaho? To the volume it was done for Woodstock? (No MHI Idiots I'm not planning such a thing so go settle down with your meth, I'm asking a question here?) But who could pull such a thing off? Would such a gig go down better say in Wyoming, or Nevada? I'd like to know. Give me an email. Let me know your thoughts on this. Maybe , maybe not.

If you can't join them Beat them

AWAL HEADER AN HCC LOGO

When I stumbled into radio and was looking at that as my only career, I had no concept of putting radio and going towing into one operation, you either did one or the other , not both. At the time there were many OTR radio shows out there, but few if any directly looked at the issues and concerns of us going towing. No body talked about tow regs, tow shows and so on, nobody featured other towing services doing well, at least on radio or mass media. Yes there were and are towing print publications, Tow Times, American Towman, and others but little on radio. It wasn't until I went down to Hollywierd in 1984 that I saw the multitudes of towing pros, some just sitting like taxi cabs waiting for the mass urban commute to render services. I thought then for every two OTR haulers out there, there is about 5 tow drivers. What if there was a gig or those trying to make a buck driving a tow truck? Syndicate the damn show to other bigger radio stations coast to coast and give them a market few had ever thought about tapping into. But you have to have a catchy title. Since the name of my going towing company at the time was Highway Hooker Towing I thought how about Highway Hooker Radio. I did not create that handle, somebody once named a quite great looking heavy hook , that name the Happy Hooker. The term is generated from the fact on the ends of the chains and cables used in towing there are hooks on the ends. But for me I have to keep explaining that. The name for radio just came as I saw this thing about a punk rock band called Bare Naked Ladies, that A; were not bare naked, B; not ladies, but the image just got you if nothing else to check out their web site and give them an ear. If it worked for them why not me? Added to that Howard Stern had Robin Quivers as a co-host, news anchor, again a good pairing. If it worked for Stern , it might could work for us. By 1987 Highway Hooker Radio was ready to go, and it did. As part of the program package of Dixie Diesel Trucker Radio, we brought towing radio to the ears of all going towing. Of course in 1988, my son was born, many financial and other issues to contend with, so I dropped radio as an all time gig. Although I kept most of the gear and all  just at the time having the want to do it. But in 1992 at the urging of the UAITA, the parent of the Knytes-of-Anarchy, KTOW fired back up in Rupert Idaho. This time I had my ah Robin, and my was she hot. But this was when streaming radio was in its infancy. Just were not that many web site builders in Rupert, and I was looking at mostly regular radio. After my divorce to Janice in 1996 I decided it was high time to make this radio gig unwind or just forget it. More gear was bought, I settled in Utah and was just about to launch things full bore in 2002 when the rug got pulled out from under me. See Cuzzin Bud had invested some $80,000.00 into a thing called Metro Securities a annuity, that was paying a good interest income,so that the Montgomery Trust would not invade its own structure. But that $80,000.00 really hurt. It was gone. Or so I thought. The recovery will be slow. The court agreement is the court, pays right at $25,000.00 or so every odd numbered year until that $80,000.00 is fully paid plus pays back all legal fees. To date there has been $50,000.00 paid back not including interest and legal fees. There is right at $200,000.00 yet to be paid. But before Bud gives me more money, I have to have a workable plan, and not waste it putting a roof on a building I don't own. So the soon to come thing has to do with developing the plan, then once the bucks are in the bank, put that $200,000.00 divided in half , $100,000.00 into going, towing. The other $100G's into a full power towing/Trucker radio station. Any mile big day today need rest see ya'll in the morning, meds kicking in.

More on Radio

AWAL HEADER ahcml

I really love radio, it was and is my chosen media. Oh yes I love TV from yesteryear, but modern TV leaves me wanting more. Any way, the thing is and maybe a few are old enough to remember the golden age of radio, the radio dramas. Long before TV, and with only one TV station that came in very good, our family used to gather around the old Philco Ford Radio with tubes in it, and would tune into the Grand Old Oprey, on WSM, from Nashville, then we'd turn the dial a bit and we'd tune into things, like The Shadow, Lone Ranger, Batman, yes Batman was a radio drama, and the Cisco Kid. Radio pioneers like Allan Freed, WolfMan Jack, all the way up to Dr. Demento. Who I could not stop laughing, he was funny. Then came edgy radio, WolfMan started that, but Howard Stern put a twist on it. While I never worked for Stern, I did meet him once at a NAB gig, just like I did WolfMan Jack, different years of course, but I try to go to the NAB in Vegas when I can. Last two years something has always came up to swipe money from my jeans that made that trip no doable, but I try to go. The online radio thing bit in late 2002 , I had secured a house in Layton Utah that I was living in, and had space to put up the radio station. To make this short, I was Googling names for a web site, found Steve Wolf's wolfFM , found who he did that through and started a dialog with those web site creators. I would tell you who, but I don't want you know who to screw that up. So gave them a call and www.ayrewolffm.com had a page up, but not much else. I had no idea as to how to build the backend of the web site, especially one that had streaming ability. While the dip shits have no idea, cuzz they were not there, before coming to Idaho, I had two full rooms of radio broadcast gear, that as far as I know is still being held hostage for past rent in Evanston. The only reason I ain't fetched it yet? No not the past due rent, but where the hell am I to put it all? Which is why for a long time was trying to find cheap office space, both in GF and MH. As well as surrounding areas. I think I have a grip on one, will seek it out this week and see what flys. But thing is , our web site's backend is being created by Urban Dezigns in Boise. With the hosting and all from Portland Oregon. That too has a back bill but its doable. But my first responsibility is to myself, and getting going towing, which requires two things, a shop to give Lexi her make over and two a fenced yard for an impound storage yard. By the way , had I had the impound yard, things in GF might have been different. Looking back the $500.00 I missed to paying at GF there I say I should have, but shit I was looking to getting out of there back then. You'd have thought that the $5,000.00 I put on the roof of that building would have gave me some credit. Oh well it ain't like Jack did it, so what can I say. But classic radio. What if once up and on, we did radio dramas? Not taped ones from years gone by, but produced new era radio dramas. Hell one does not have to look good to be on radio, unless your doing alternate video. But hey I take my inspirations from where I get them. The thing is take radio to new wave lengths, to where they have not gone. Push the edge of decency, or what the FCC will look the other way, and have live radio, 2-7/365. No satellite , like many do, no predone radio like others do, act like all, hours are drive time and have live hosts behind the mic all the time, one guy, one gal, with a rebel attitude, an howl at the moon. Keep it Cherry

Why I love radio over TV

ahcml AWAL HEADER

I have said for several months even as far back as last year that radio will remain king in media over TV, for some very good reasons. Radio by and large is not fussy. A good radio in your home will work, and for the most part flawlessly even though TV has switched to digital, leaving many frustrated the fact is radio is still available through analog signals. Yes there is HD AM radio in major markets, KSL out of Salt Lake City has two sideband signals aka HD Radio. But I don't think you'll see HD radio in Idaho for a very long time. I could be wrong, but I have not seen or ah heard of any. TV is complicated. Don't get me wrong here, I still like my TV, but here lately even though the LPTV Translator station in Twin Falls that rebroadcasts KTVB, out of Boise, has some serious flaws, one being lack of a good engineer, and Boise's support, is mill. Be that as it may. Radio is much more personal, after all you can't take your TV to bed with you and hear it under your pillow, but you can your radio. You really cain't take your TV to the shower, but you can take a waterproof Radio there, and of course watching TV while driving is really a no brainer, yes I know some people do, but that's nearly as bad if not worse than using your cell phone especially texting while driving. But that's getting off course here. The fact is Radio was the mass media at the start, continues today, and most likely will be around into the next half dozen centuries. Like this morning was all head up to watch KTVB's View-point show to see what lies would be told about this health care debate. Guess what after SNL last night KTFT-38 the local translator here puked. Meaning no View-Point. Or Meet the Press. Oh by the way watch Meet The Press next month, a thing on the CSA/CNP is being planned. Will be interesting. But as I rested overnight, I had an idea, I wonder if those folks at Hayden Lake Idaho, need some help. If so bro's email me I'm ready to make the move.

Quit the Knytes? Are they fracking kidding?

AWAL HEADER ahcml

Saw this entry on shit-heads blog that I ought to quit the Knytes. Are they fracking kidding? That would be like cutting off an arm or leg, for me. Even if it did improve my health without the Knytes, I'd not have much reason to live anyway. So no that ain't going to happen. As far as my blood pressure, shit my BP is lower than most I know of including my heart rate, besides the sooner I die, the sooner those folks in MHI will be happy. They just want me to keel over, so I'm working on that, but before I punch out I have a ton of stuff to do before then, dreams to see light and to leave the club in good honor and too see the club that I helped father back in 1982 grow to being not only what it was but what the club can become under new images and our web site. Should be running by October sezz our webmaster. Before that happens , I need to truck to Portland Oregon, meet with the site builders there, get all the tweaking done, then look out America here come the Knytes-of-Anarchy. As for the blogs being open to comment, the Knytes themselves can, its outsiders that can't. Oh and yes they do comment on our stealth blog. Hazzard County, the CSA/CNP, and even I are alive and well. Things are getting done, and there is the hours of power that will render the Hazzard Nationals in 2010. More on that in a few blogs. By the way to the stupid fracks in MHI, did you check out www.wolffm.com or www.howlinoldies.com to see what we have in mind or are you too full of pride to do that? Last but not least , when are fartknockers going to come to a Knytes-of-Anarchy meeting? Or are you too damn stupid to know where the Knyte House is. I have gave directions. Oh no, they might have to drive somewhere and see the rest of the club, their animosity would be compromised , so can't do that. Whose chicken now turkey dumps? Any mile in the old days with feuds , like the Hatfields and McCoy's, you could shoot em, these assholes I can't shoot so I gotta put up with em. Oh well just another day in Paradise.

Its that time of the year again

AWAL HEADER ahcml

It's that tyme again, weather is getting a bit cooler overnight and you might be thinking maybe its time to check out the furnace. While you might be turning on the AC during the day, the hours of having your heat on overnight is rapidly approaching. So some tips here to make sure your house is ready. Check the filters, its said so many times but those filters for both exiting and incoming air are very important to efficient energy use and ultimate comfort. Don't forget to take the shop vac out and suck up the mouse turds and bugs that have accumulated over the summer. Check out the fan motor, is it oiled? How about the drive belts? If your using small wall mounted heaters are they in good shape? What about the electrical connections? All snug? Now Fireplaces are another thing and it depends on what style your using, but check the Chimney to make sure all those birds nests and debris are not blocking the stack. As well as creosote build up. You might have put that off over the Summer but now's the time before the rush, to get someone to clean it all up. How about wood? Have you got enough to start out the season? If not might be time to head for the hills to do some wood chopping. Doing that when its 70 below in the freezing snow might be a fun time, but it can be chill as well. Why not get on your Gator and take the famdamnly up with you, make it an outing, get your kids comfortable with using a chain saw, have a marshmallow cookout some smores are always good, cut some wood then you'll be ready when it really gets bad. Finally what about your precious ride? Have you checked it out? How about Antifreeze, levels, belts, hoses, the heater itself, thermostat , condition of the radiator? Do you have your traction tires and/or snow tires mounted up on scrap wheels to mount on your ride when it turns white? What about those safety chains, pull out straps, jumper cables, how about the battery or batteries? Charged, in good shape, for cold starting. What about starting fluid? Now is the time to get these chores done. Don't wait until the last second or hour, when you want to go to the show and you can't o cuzz your ride ain't ready to go in the snow. Next time your tow truck is she ready?
