Do you ever wonder how cruel some people can be? The question I ask is simply, when and how did I piss in their oatmeal? Did I do something directly to THEM? No, so if a person is only looking to improve things in a community , why do I get hammered? Shit, I could see it if I had went out and hurt people, and so on, but whoa. I was trying to be helpful. But oh well, life is what it is. Of course Becky will get paid, would not have it any other way. She stepped up and got some things done. The only reason there has been a delay, is that A; the move due to my landlord going bankrupt, and two; the attorney defending me on a lame gig. Both tapped me really good. Oh yes I could ask the Knytes for the money, but I stubbed my own toe here so its up to me to get out of it. As far as not having the brains to do radio, oh really? Do these idiots, know that I was involved in radio and media LONG BEFORE my family ever moved to Idaho(yes I know a mistake) I don't look at doing radio to make me a media star, I do it, because there is little if any real good media out there for those going towing or trucking. Regulations on these industries need changed, issues need to be made. Like in Nevada, do you know? You either have to buy out someone already in a certain location you have a mind to tow in, or give a percentage to a competitor to get on any Nevada rotation list. These kinds of regulations need change to open things up to an even playing field for true free enterprise. But that's getting off course. Long before I discovered trucks, the CB and all I was very much into broadcasting. Hell as far back as at age 9 I saw KCPX, both radio and TV in Salt Lake City, look we are talking years ago before the mass media firms killed community radio. KCPX AM 1320 in Salt Lake City was the bible of radio in the mountain West. So was KSOP, I was on TV through a entry in some contest, on KCPX TV-4(now KTVX-4) on a thing that was like the Howdy Doody show. KCPX's show was called the Fireman Frank Show. It was on early mornings, but was taped two weeks in advance on Fridays. The Friday I went in, I did the TV show, but got to talking shop with Wooly Waldron of KCPX he did a fast audition tape of me, told mom and dad that I had talent, and so I looked to that as my career. From Utah throughout all of the Magic Valley of Idaho all the way to the Boise area, I migrated from, station to station. Found my niche in Twin Falls at KLIX overnights heard a gig from New Mexico that was produced out of Utah called JOC Radio, yes a truckers show. Talked to KLIX owner Charlie Tuma, he said lets try it and what soon became Dixie Diesel Trucker Radio, went on the air in 1975. However soon after Charlie went to a all talk format, found some support over at KEEP AM 1450(now KEZJ AM) In Twin Falls, but my rebel style was not o their liking. Did a short run at KMTW 96.1(now KLIX FM) but even they were not comfortable with fight the system radio. So by 1979 I had enough. Yes it was a pirate station, but in October 1983, KTOW FM 89.1 went on the air from midnight to 5:00 AM everyday. The equipment came from some used gear Dad helped me get from KLHS FM 89.1 Lewiston Idaho,(yes I was on that station every week day from 11:00 AM to Noon) the rest of our gear was re-engineered from consumer stereo gear , that I did most of the work on, and if someone doubts that you don't know nothing. Too many people saw the station, and many others were on it. We even were the only true NBC affiliate in this area of Idaho and the only one running DR.Ruth. We were the pioneer radical station in the valley. And I will say this, had some other events in my life not happened then. KTOW would have been legal in a few short months. But here it is today and that is my primary goal, besides going towing. And if you don't think I'm telling true, call up big Kelly at KEZJ in Twin Falls, ask him, he will tell you our station was not only running, but was making real money and had its niche filled. So somebody telling me I don't have the smarts etc to do up a radio station just does not know anything. More-over, just not know me. As far as going towing, that was a dream I made into reality. Yes years of no running has taken its toll on my trucks and yes cosmetically there is some really serious work that needs to be done, but under her skin, she can tow with any of them her size. But this too is what I settled on, because I realized after Mom died that doing up a station was stupid, I settled for towing. However the need for a station for truckers, towing pros and so on is still needed and needed much more today than it was when I cranked it up years ago. When it goes on the air, and it will right around March if nothing happens to stop it, KTOW FM will be the radio station so many want to be, but won't. We will. After all if it can happen in this valley once it can happen again. Like I said, ah how little they know.
